Bello! I am back with a well deserved update. I am going to commit to a more weekly upload schedule for myself. I know nobody reads these but maybe one day they will.
In the meantime, I was able to record a set for a collective in Chicago called FirstChoice. Check it out! I started with a serious club stomper from Kevin Irving, a Chicago house legend, and continue to build on the groove until we are getting funky with some You&Me records. I even added a vinyl rip special for the set so that was extremely fun. I had some issues with trying to get the audio just right because I didn’t want it to clip and the kick/bass just kind of did not carry through unfortunately. I don’t know what it was with this mix but I was just struggling to get everything exactly how I wanted. I have a high quality assurance but I think I just got in my high too much. Some of the transitions are terrible but I think it is important to get out of your comfort zone and grow and this is the only way how to.
Something I did good in the mix was song selection. I’m not into the commercial minimal/tech and social media house music. I’m here to unearth serious belters and I def think I did that. I mean no shot people have ever listened to anything by Garrett David or Innershades or Gene on Earth(maybe him). Get with the program or get left behind
In other news, I am still working on music. Maybe a song out here before the end of the month but that may be pushing it. I want to do a song a month going forward for the rest of the year so let’s get busy.
ELLA!
