Who inspires Entropy?

As someone who takes inspiration from a wide range of sources, I thought I would pay homage to those that inspire me and have guided me on this journey. These are in no order, these were just the thoughts and ideas that came into my head <3

Keinemusik- Keinemusik really grabbed my attention I would say around late 2022-early 2023. I remember coming across possibly one of the most etherical songs of all time, Impossible – &ME remix, and diving down into &ME’s discography. I soon found out about Rampa, Adam, Reznik, David Mayer and their talented artist designer Monja. I think that what draws me to them is their DIY attitude. They’re not afraid to be themselves and break boundaries. I think a lot of what the djs that inspire me are the ones that break boundaries. Keinemusik production is always that stuns me at how its all centered around this vibe of just celebrating and dancing. They’re not fitting to any conforms and you really see that in their YOU ARE SAFE album. Top to bottom, that is just an album of pure soul and not worrying about how if it will work or not. They have been at building a crue since 2009 and shows that good things will come to those who wait. Oh, and seeing Adam Port on the Terrace at Space Miami for sunrise was a top 3 show.

Seth Troxler – Seth is a very interesting character. He has been through so much but I really enjoy the way he mixes. He just plays what he wants to play. He is not trying to have people grab and latch onto attention. He is their for the music and it really shows. He has done it all. He pushes boundaries and cares about the culture of house, techno, and the community. His greatest tip……go 1000000%.

Ricardo Villalobos – While I will be honest, I do not know that much of Ricardo or have not seen him in his peak DJ form but he absolutes deserves a spot on the list. His style alone is basically the definition of entropy. I mean, he has done shows blasted out of his mind but he doesn’t care. He will play the worst vinyl and then right about play the best vinyl. He will keep the party going no matter what. He doesn’t sell his values and what he believes in and that shows his passion for the art. Music is emotion and he shows that based off of the state of mind he is in. Also, Dexter by him……..go check it out.

PAWSA – PAWSA. That is all about that needs to be said. PAWSA is king. PAWSA takes a lot of influence from orignal greats such as Housey Doingz, Juan Atkins, & Omar S. PAWSA describes his style as stripped down tech house made for the dance floor building his songs from his hats, claps, driving groove, sparse melodies, and energetic vocal samples. By 2013, Michael Bibi had been relentlessly DJing, producing and running the Solid Grooves party brand for two years. He and PAWSA started spending time together, bonding over tracks they’d produced in their bedrooms at home. After a few Solid Grooves parties, Bibi asked the then 22-year-old PAWSA to DJ alongside him at a gig in Berlin. A successful show, no sleep and a pile of in-flight napkins scrawled with inky plans later, PAWSA was investing all of his savings — £8,000, from a season spent DJing in Spain — into a new project with Bibi, launching Solid Grooves Records in 2015.

Solomun- King Solomon is a pioneer of the dance floor. Every set gets better than the rest and he is a true partyer. He will keep the party going. He thinks of music as shades of life, with different tones and emotions and how this interrelation works makes him king of the dancefloor.

Josh Baker – Baker’s tunes are other worldly and he earns a spot for his passion to teach others. His SYNTHO channel has been a goldmine of information and absolutely has helped me in production. His style and his energy is amazing and I am glad to see him crushing his shows.

HotSince82 – HotSince82 earns a spot due to his style of tech house and his shows. He is focused on bringing his style to every set and his extensive catalogue shows this alongside his sets.

DJ Gigola – Gigolo means playboy, but the word originally derives from the ancient French “Gigole” which used to mean dancing woman. This makes DJ Gigola both, a dancing woman and a playboy. I had found her through a Solomon set and her album FLUID MEDITATIONS is a surreal experience. Her and her collective, LIVE FROM EARTH featuring MCR-T, HorsegiirL, & others shows that Berlin is the home of the artist.

I will come back and edit more artists as I think of them. In the meantime, check out some of my favorite artists & labels.
